5 things to do in Luton this Valentine’s weekend

Another year of my boyfriend buying me flowers that look like they were chosen for my 85-year-old Nan.

Yay – Valentine’s Day returns! ♥️

For all those moany fucks that think it’s a money-making scheme, I mean it is but so what? Valentine’s Day can be whatever you want it to be. And I for one, will be using it as an excuse to get out and about and fill my face.

But this year I will not be joining the crowds in Zizzi or Miller & Carter – oh no! I have found something way more interesting. I mean, I’d love to tell you what I have planned, but if my boyfriend bothers to actually read this blog then the surprise will be ruined!

So, whilst I swear myself to secrecy, here’s my top five picks for things to do this Valentine’s weekend in and around Luton!

The White Horse, Tea Green

These Valentine’s Day benches at The White Horse look fantastic!

Filled with plenty of sweet/savoury treats and a pink gin, I personally would be super impressed with this bundle of cuteness.

They have a special Valentine’s package for couples from 12-16th Feb, that’s definitely worth a look.

Wrest Park, Silsoe

Want to impress your date? Wrest Park is certainly the way to go!

It’s hard to believe something so stunning exists just a few miles north of Luton.

You can take a stroll through the impressive landscaped gardens where there are hidden gems around every corner. The manor house is certainly worth a look too, the interior is quite spectacular.

You’ll find Wrest Park nestled in the quaint village of Silsoe. The village itself is worth visiting for the local cosy pubs, as well as the nearby village of Flitton. You’ll also find ‘pub grub’ at its best here.

Price: Adult entry: £11.50

Opening times:
Friday 14th Feb: Closed
Saturday 15th Feb: 10-4pm
Sunday 16th Feb: 10-4pm

the bear club in luton logo with lots of people sitting at tables chatting for valentines night

Did you know we have a Jazz Club in Luton which is in the Top 25 Jazz Clubs in the WORLD?!

The good news is The Bear Club is perfect for a Valentine’s evening filled with live music.

The bad news is they recently announced the venue is closing this year. So if you haven’t visited this place yet, then now is the time!

My personal pick is the Friday 14th February – Elsadie & The Bob Cats, a modern pop-jazz experience, covering classics like Peggy Lee’s ‘Fever’ and equally taking on modern hits such as Beyonce’s ‘Crazy in Love’.

Price: £10 / £9 / £5 (BK)

pasta dish in a white plate with prawns and mussels in a tomato sauce for valentines 3 course meal
La Dolce Vita, Luton

You just can’t go wrong with an Italian at Valentine’s and La Dolce Vita is a fantastic spot. I’ve been here so many times and you just can’t fault it. I absolutely love their cocktail & gin menu too!

On Valentine’s Day, they’ve a 3 course set menu including a free glass of bubbly. Or alternatively, the normal menu resumes the next day if you fancy a bit more of a wider choice.

Prices: £27.50 per person (set menu)
Friday 14th February
