6 lockdown cocktails for this weekend

I don’t know about you, but there’s nothing better than going out for a good ol’ slap up meal or getting dressed up for a couple (too many) cocktails on a Saturday night. But lets face it, weekends just aren’t the same anymore are they?

But have no fear! – I’ve made it my mission to revive those Saturday nights and bring the bar to you!

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been testing and mastering some lush lockdown cocktails and have come up with my favourite six. It’s a hard life, hey? But I mean someone had to do it. I’m all for the people me.

So sit back, relax, grab your virtual friends and enjoy yourself a cocktail or quarantini. This is the Luton guide to lockdown cocktails!

Let’s go girls (and boys!) Cue Shania Twain….

Guava Farley Flute

  • 1 part vodka
  • 2 part guava juice
  • Top with prosecco
  • Rasberry for garnish

Disclaimer: My mum told me not to upload the photos where my acrylics are grown out. How rude, I’m keeping it real in isolation mother!

Lewsey Lime & Kiwi Mojito

  • 50ml vodka
  • Fresh mint
  • Slice of lime
  • 50ml lime cordial
  • Soda water (or lemonade if you can’t find any!)
  • 1 Kiwi
  • 3 large spoons of sugar*
  • Ice

• Heat the sugar and the peeled kiwi (except one garnish slice) in a pan until syrup consistency.
• Shake together ice, fresh mint, lime cordial and vodka in a shaker. Then pour over syrup and ice in glass. Top with soda water, give a good mix. Garnish with kiwi, mint sprigs and a slice of lime.

Round Green Rhubarb Pie Spritz

  • 50ml rhubarb vodka
  • A splash of vanilla bean essence
  • 200ml Rhubarb & Apple juice
  • Top with diet lemonade
  • Fresh mint
  • Strawberry for garnish
  • Ice

• Use a cocktail shaker.
• Try diet lemonade instead of normal as it’s less lemony.

Pink Bramingham Berry

  • 1 part pink gin
  • 3 parts lemonade
  • Top with prosecco
  • Strawberries
  • Mint
  • Ice

Caddington Creamberry

  • 50ml vodka
  • Splash of vanilla essence
  • 250ml blueberry juice
  • Blueberries to garnish
  • Ice

Stopsley Strawberries & Cream Cider Slushie

  • 1 x Brothers stawberry & cream cider (330ml)
  • A splash of vanilla bean essence
  • 100ml vanilla ice-cream
  • 12 x medium sized frozen strawberries
  • Strawberry for garnish

• Put two thirds of the cider in a blender with the vanilla essence, ice-cream and frozen strawberries. Blend until smooth. Pour into glass and top with remaining cider.
• You can add more strawberries if you can a more frozen consistency, but I like mine easily drinkable!

And that’s a wrap! I hope these six lockdown cocktails have inspired you to get creative this weekend. For those looking for a non-alcoholic alternative, you can pretty much remove the alcohol from most of these recipes or substitute with lemonade to create your own mocktail.
